Clinical Supervision Designed to Help You Grow With Confidence
Therapy supervision that goes beyond licensure hours — because becoming a skilled, confident clinician takes more than logging time.
If you’re a pre-licensed therapist in Wisconsin looking for counseling supervision that is collaborative, honest, and genuinely supportive, you’ve found the right place.
What Is Therapy Supervision — and Why Does It Matter?
Clinical supervision is a structured, professional relationship in which a licensed supervisor provides guidance, feedback, and support to a pre-licensed therapist. In Wisconsin, LPC-ITs and other pre-licensed clinicians are required to complete a set number of supervised hours before applying for full licensure.
But the best therapy supervision is about much more than meeting a requirement. It’s a space to wrestle with difficult cases, strengthen your case conceptualization, explore your internal experience as a therapist, and develop the kind of clinical intuition that can’t be taught in a classroom. Good clinical supervision training shapes the kind of therapist you will be for decades to come.
At A New Dawn Therapy, supervision is one of the most meaningful parts of my work — and I take it seriously.
My Experience & Supervision Philosophy
My clinical journey began while earning my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Wisconsin–Stout, where I also completed specializations in AODA and child and adolescent counseling. I completed my practicum and internship in an AODA-specific halfway house, and that experience continues to shape how I show up as both a clinician and supervisor. It taught me how to sit with complexity, hold space during difficult transitions, and stay grounded when things feel uncertain — for clients and therapists alike.
Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work across many levels of care, including outpatient mental health and AODA services, residential treatment, inpatient settings, and IOP/day treatment programs. I’ve worked with children, adolescents, and adults, and those higher-acuity environments strengthened my clinical assessment skills while deepening my respect for trauma-informed care and integrative approaches. I became EMDR trained in 2018 and have continued to grow through training in somatic approaches, DBT skills, and perinatal and postpartum mental health. Learning has always been central to who I am, and I bring that same curiosity into supervision.
In 2021, I founded A New Dawn Therapy out of a desire for independence and a genuine hope to help shape thoughtful, skilled clinicians. Therapy supervision is one of the most meaningful parts of my work. I supervise LPC-ITs and love supporting therapists as they build confidence, strengthen case conceptualization, and find their professional voice. My approach is collaborative, encouragement-based, and strengths-focused, with a strong commitment to ethical practice.
I care deeply about creating a space where you can talk openly about your internal experience, trust your clinical intuition, and develop a solid foundation that feels sustainable.
“Supervision is about much more than meeting licensure requirements. It’s about becoming a confident, thoughtful clinician who feels grounded in their work and prepared to practice independently.”
What to Expect From Counseling Supervision at A New Dawn Therapy
My counseling supervision is built around you — your caseload, your clinical questions, your growth edges, and your goals. Each session is a collaborative conversation, not an evaluation. Here’s what our work together may include:
- Case conceptualization and clinical consultation on challenging clients
- Support with documentation, treatment planning, and ethical decision-making
- Exploration of your internal experience as a therapist — countertransference, self-of-therapist work, and more
- Guidance on trauma-informed approaches, EMDR, somatic techniques, and DBT skills
- Strengths-based feedback that builds your confidence alongside your competence
- Space to ask questions, sit with uncertainty, and grow at your own pace
You will never be made to feel like you have to have it all figured out. Questions are welcome. Uncertainty is part of the process. Growth happens over time — and I’ll be with you through it.
