Healing Trauma
Trauma therapy can provide support and help you find your way back towards a better life. You don’t have to go through this alone. EMDR therapy is an effective approach to healing from your trauma. If you would like to learn more about EMDR, then click here.
My therapeutic approach focuses on your thoughts, emotions, and on your body to help you get better. Because of how the body stores traumatic memories, our work together can look like:
- learning how to use your body to help you during triggering times
- developing ways to stay present in moments by building awareness of body sensations, thoughts, and feelings
- and exploring the stories your thoughts, emotions, or body holds about your past experiences

Trauma therapy can help you:
- Discover how to love yourself and your body
- Begin to enjoy the company of yourself and feel more connected to those around you
- Begin to feel joy in life again
- Build confidence in being able to handle whatever curveball life throws at you
- Be more present in your life instead of continuing to push the past away
- And begin to feel relief, freedom, and hope for your future
Healing from your trauma is possible.

Trauma Therapy and PTSD Symptoms
When a traumatic experiences happen, it can flood the brain with sensory information. This flooding of information can cause memories of the experience to get stuck and not fully processed. PTSD can develop from experiences such as sexual or physical assault, a car accident, birth trauma, being exposed to violence, surviving natural disasters, neglect, sudden death of a loved one, medical trauma such as major surgery or diagnosis, or an abusive relationship.
Some symptoms of PTSD can include being easily frightened, constantly aware of your environment or peoples movements around you, avoiding things that remind you of the event, difficulty sleeping, and having thoughts like “it is all my fault” or “no one can be trusted.” PTSD can impact your relationships, affect your job performance, and impair your ability to experience joy.
The good news is that access to convenient online trauma therapy is available. You don’t have to feel like this forever.
